Out of the Rain and into the Web

A sudden severe change in the weather drove the party into a barn of an abandoned farm house. Unwittingly they stumbled upon a colony of monstrous spiders that were roused to defend their home from the invaders. After dealing with the giant vermin they decided to wait out the storm in the relatively dry barn. The feeling of being watched by some unseen voyeur prompted the party to set a trap in case the watcher wished to do them harm.

Despite the trap, a strike team of invisible bugbear rogues lead by the goblin wizard, Rancid, and the demonic barghest, Skorn, succeeded in snatching away Hadron's signet ring and then teleporting away into the nearby woods. Fortunately the party's plucky rogue was able to follow the bandits' retreat to their nearby hideout. Scouting the cliffs in bat-form she has determined their outward strength of a half-dozen worgs, a pack leader, and a handful of goblin archers. There are clearly more bandits lurking in the deep darkness of the limestone caves. During the night Beornweynne, Gignus, Digna, and Elrothien all reached 4th level!

In chapter 5 the party will likely be planning their assault on the goblinoids' base in order to retrieve the ring along with any other spoils and claim the 7000 gold bounty on these bandits offered in Halwayton. Let's see if we can get through this dungeon in one session!

The Death of Batman

It's time once again to gather around the gaming table and throw some dice at new challenges.

In chapter 4 of the ongoing story we will delve into the origins of the mysterious assassin, Sidor, which may lead to additional clues and nefarious plots.

News from the battlefront has arrived. The civil war between Lord Uthrick's Loyalists and Vandra's Rebels still rages on in the north. The Loyalists have gained the upper-hand and Baron Renford is returning home with a cadre of war-weary soldiers.

Yet Sir Mortimer Grim is still a threat to the people of Leventhorpe and the true Prince Hadron (or Brother Gregor as he has been known for the last 13 years) is still in mortal danger for his life should he be discovered.

Worse still, the monstrous bandits and raiders have gotten bolder the longer they go unopposed. Now the Baron's road is all but unpassable south of Halfwayton by anyone not heavily armed and armored.

So bring your dice, beers, swords, and spells and we'll see what happens. See you Saturday!
